Glenn Holloway’s predictable life ended the day he confessed his homosexuality to his family. As if that wasn’t enough, he then poured salt in the wound by walking away from the ranch he’d grown up on, to open the restaurant he’d always dreamed of. Without support from his father and brother, and too proud to accept assistance from anyone else, he had to start from scratch. Over time things worked out: Glenn successfully built a strong business, created a new home, and forged a life he could be proud of.
Despite his success, his estrangement from the Holloways is still a sore spot he can’t quite heal, and a called-in favor becomes Glenn’s worst nightmare. Caught in a promise, Glenn returns to his roots to deal with Rand Holloway and comes face-to-face with Mac Gentry, a man far too appealing for Glenn’s own good. It could all lead to disaster—disaster for his tenuous reconnection with his family and for the desire he didn’t know he held in his heart.
This was the book I needed.
Hard times, these days, folks. I’ve been so emotionally distressed over world events, I couldn’t get myself to read. I think the only thing that could save me would be some familiar faces, some familiar stories, and always the happiest of ever afters.
I love a Mary Calmes story and the Timing series has been a favorite because it’s classic MC style and…well…Rand. Rand, one of my ultimate book boyfriends. And though this was not a story about Rand, it had enough of him in it, that I was swept off to my happy place.
Book 3 of the series focuses on Glenn Holloway. This surprised me at first because Glenn was kind of the “big jerk” from the first two books. But that’s what made this one fun…we get to find out WHY Glenn has always been such a jerk, and understanding Glenn = loving Glenn.
Glenn and Mac’s relationship is INSTALOVE at it’s finest, but honestly, I have no cares. It was hot and endearing and possessive and made me happy!
In just over 100 pages, the reader gets all the love, sex, feels, laughs needed to get through the day. And thus, the perfect book for this reader during a really bleak time.
It’s a quick read but you get all the best stuff of a story consumable in one sitting.
If you’ve read the first two books, and if you’ve come to love Rand like I have (hands off, he’s mine!!!!), there are some really yummy Rand parts in the book! Yay!
Instalove. But so what?
Let me tell you who it’s not for. It’s not for those that want to read something for the sole purpose to analyze and tear it apart. Suspend reality, let yourself be swept up in a short fairy tale. You’ll be happier for it! 🙂
