Levi Ramone entered the gay porn market for one reason, and one reason only–he needed the cash to pay his momma’s spiraling gambling debts.
Seven years later, he’s a veteran with a reputation as one of Blue Boy Studio’s most ruthless tops, and when his boss suggests it’s time for a change, he finds himself staring down the barrel of a gun. Figuratively speaking, at least.
Enter Sonny Valentine, a go-go dancer at Blue’s sister club, Silver’s. Levi has secretly admired Sonny from afar for years, but there’s one problem–he can’t stand Sonny and the feeling is entirely mutual. When Levi learns Sonny is to play the third part in a scene he considers his worst nightmare, he figures things can’t get any worse.
But when preparations for the scene from hell collide with tragic events in his personal life, he finds his fast growing, red hot attraction to Sonny the one thing left between him and a bullet.
That’s the key theme this story left me with. If I’m completely honest, I wasn’t much of a Levi fan in the beginning. As it turns out, I didn’t understand him. And I’m not the only one. The majority of the guys at Blue Boy Studio took the face value impression and f*ck off vibe that Levi radiates. No one has ever taken the time or care to discover why and that’s been just fine with him. Then an opportunity falls into Levi’s lap, one which terrifies him but unfortunately, it’s one he can’t refuse.
The fans are desperate to see Levi on the receiving end. His reputation as a brutal top that never kisses or reverses roles is about to change. That is if he can convince the screaming voice in his head to shut up. He has been rather content allowing the numbness to consume him…until a lithe dancer slides into his world and melts him. And I’m sure you already know Olaf’s wise words but…. ‘some people are worth melting for’.
I am always thankful when an author re-releases a series that I had previously missed. This story has a smoking hot new cover that caught my eye and gave me pause. I don’t know why I overlooked it before but I’m grateful for the reappearance. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading this one, I think it’s worth checking out. There’s a lot to like here.
I love it when an author creates a surly MC and then…I’m suddenly his number one defender. I was rather irritated with Levi and his prickly attitude but then we learn why he is fighting so hard and I couldn’t help but love him. I thought Sonny and his obnoxious unwanted persistence was adorable. He would be the first to admit he didn’t like Levi and yet, he was willing to take a ‘bullet’ for him in the end. THIS…this is what I loved about this story. I have high hopes for them and look forward to continuing the series and hopefully catching a glimpse of them in the upcoming books.
Porn. These men are in the adult entertainment business and if you have any qualms with that, you should move along. As for me, I’m going to move along…with this series. 😉
Erotic romance readers with the patience to see past the facade will most likely enjoy this tricky tangle.
