Watching Jude’s cam show stirs desires Shawn’s always denied…
Shawn is adrift. Recently graduated, he’s stuck in a dead-end job that barely pays the bills. His girlfriend dumped him, his friends have moved on, and he’s still in Plymouth—going nowhere.
Jude is a student living in the same shared house. Out and proud, he’s everything Shawn’s been running from since he hit puberty. When Shawn discovers Jude works as a cam boy, he can’t resist the urge to watch one of his shows. It makes Shawn want things that scare him, yet his fascination forces him to confront his attraction.
Keen to explore his bicurious side, Shawn suggests they do a show together. Jude agrees, and things get complicated—and kinky—fast. But Jude isn’t looking to get involved with someone so deep in the closet. If Shawn’s going to get what he wants, he needs to find the courage to stop hiding from himself and be honest about who he is.
Something magical happens when I open a new Northcote book. The lights dim, sensual music begins to stream in the background and aphrodisiac aromas permeate the air. Jay does sexy so damn well. I picture Jay writing with a dirty martini in one hand and a cigar in the other while seated in a velvet high back chair narrating to his computer. Ha! Don’t ruin it for me Jay!! 😉
This is book four in the Housemates series and it’s just as amazing as the others. As stated, you don’t have to read them in order but I would HIGHLY recommend it. No sense in missing out on the greatness of the previous three books. Trust me, it’s no hardship to start at the beginning. We were introduced to Shawn before and I wasn’t really sure how I would like him starring in his own story, but it didn’t take long for those concerns to disappear.
Shawn is milking his relationship with his girlfriend despite knowing they are both spinning their wheels. When he loses Beth he finds himself exactly where he dreaded…alone. But do you know the best part about being alone? You have nowhere else to look other than yourself. No distractions or barriers, you are left naked and forced to see what’s really there. Shawn opens his eyes and discovers hidden parts of himself he was dimly aware of but he was afraid to embrace them. Then he stumbles into Jude’s life and realizes accepting himself may not be such a bad or scary thing. Behind closed doors is one thing but does he have the balls to open the door to the world?
It was so great to see the rest of the guys. We miss out on Josh and Rupert but the rest of the gang’s all here. I couldn’t help but smile seeing them happy and in love. I know it’s only a matter of time before they all go their separate ways and I am relishing these precious moments now. As always, the writing is superb and between the sexy and sweet I flew through it and was sad when it was over. The guys are fun, funny and it’s all-in-all a good time read.
Jude is a strong man with a weakness for his straight roommate. When he’s in the midst of his virtual sex show and said straight roommate barges in catching him with his cock out, his fantasies skyrocket. Lucky for him, he’s not the only one with these fantasies. Shawn proposes joining him to earn some extra cash and things get sticky fast. Jude falls quickly for Shawn. Shawn falls as well, but it’s more of a flailing fall with panic filled eyes. I loved how Jude was firm with his needs with Shawn. Communication was ever-present and made the two face the future and truth together, even if that meant they turned on different paths. Both Jude and Shawn are young but their story felt very mature. It was sexy and smoking hot but it also had a lot of…meat to it.
Sexual exploration and acceptance. The market is currently flooded with bisexual awakenings and though I agree representation is important I think overcompensation has been rampant within the new releases lately. Thankfully Jay didn’t overshadow the romance with sexuality identification even though it’s a hefty portion of the story.
Erotic romance readers will be completely satisfied and boneless by the end. If you are familiar with the horny Housemates, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you to read this…I bet you already are!
