“Good Boy” by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

aboutHosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

This book was a DELIGHT to read! I think I had a smile on my face for at least 3/4 of the book…plastered right there, not going anywhere! And then my heart found itself expanding page after page and by the end I was a happy happy girl!

Ok, confession time: I did NOT like Blake in “Us”. He kept getting in the way and I wanted him to just go away! The big lug…

So was I skeptical to read a book about him? Heck no! This is Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy, after all. No way I’m passing up a book cowritten by two of my favorite authors. And BOY did they come through. Not only did they absolutely change my mind and my heart about Blake, they did it in a way that didn’t compromise…BLAKE. He was exactly as he was in “Us”. But, as Jess Canning got to know him and let her walls down for him, SO DID I! And by the time she was in love, SO WAS I! (truthfully, I think I fell in love with Blake before Jess did…so can he be mine instead?)

What made this book even more special were all the fun parts that included Wes and Jaime! (from the books “Him” and “Us”) They didn’t just have cameos…they had plot-important parts and it was just great being able to read about the growth of their relationship! (and a wedding!)

This book came at just the right time for me. I needed a little happy. And I ended up getting a WHOLE LOTTA JOY from Blake and Jess’ story.

The team of Bowen & Kennedy can do no wrong. No joke. Their books are so so good, and even better when they’re together. This book is funny and heartwarming and sexy AF.

Blake Riley is A HOOT! He kills me! I never thought I could love a guy like him, but there you have it…I LOVE HIM!

Blake is a dirty talkin’, confident man. He is dorky and overthetop cheesy some times. But, I dare you to not fall for him. Just beware that you’ll be using the word “cheezus” on the regular.

If you want a low angst, high romance, fun book, this is it! I can’t wait to reread it again and again!
