It was supposed to be just sex… Famous last words.
Tyler doesn’t overthink pleasure and avoids complications. He knows it might be stupid to get involved with his closeted boss, but the temptation is too great. At first, the cold and beautiful Joel Sandstrom seems to loathe Tyler’s guts.
Except one late night at the office, his reasons become clear…and his control breaks.
Every time they touch, Joel’s stony face comes alive, harsh lines smooth out, and for a minute, he looks serene. Happy, even. Just sex – dirty, intense, spectacular sex.
During their covert encounters, Tyler discovers the power he has over the lonesome man, and it’s a heady feeling. What if he could set Joel free and give him peace of mind? When Tyler realizes how much Joel needs him, he doesn’t regret breaking his own rules.
Wow. Ummm. Okay. *clears throat*
It’s obvious, Roe can check erotica off his list. Please tell me there’s a list? A long lengthy (never-ending) list of more to come. For I am eagerly devouring each and every morsel he creates. I feel like a needy greedy reader when it comes to Horvat. Because here’s the thing, it doesn’t matter what it is…it’s tantalizing and divine. And I’m thrilled to start out my new year with this sensational read!
This story is sexual and dirty and….pure.
It flows with abandon…while it envelopes you.
I was lost in Tyler & Joel’s salacious presence.
There’s kink and passion.
But it’s so much more than that.
And you need to experience it firsthand to see what I mean. If you’re not familiar with Horvat yet, do yourself a favor and start here.
This is my fifth book by Roe and while each has a different flavor, all have been deeply rewarding. I believe it’s true that every book an author creates reveals another piece of…them. They may not always realize it but they infuse the story with their essence to some degree. The Other Book unveils Roe after dark. Sensual, sparkling, and highly unsuitable for narrow minds.
We are introduced to Tyler and his boss, Joel, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure I liked them together. This enemies-to-lovers duo kicks off with more than shared animosity and borders slightly on hostile grounds. There’s a storm brewing and they clash and bang savagely. But once the turbulence calms enough for us to get a closer look, we see the source of the turmoil. Joel needs Tyler…and as it turns out, Tyler needs Joel just as much. Another couple slips into the picture. Again, I questioned their relevance and was prepared to detest their involvement. For the most part, I like two in the bed. However! Adam and Christoffer bring not only scorching heat but a surprising burst of tenderness. Horvat takes this romance to the next level, which is one the many things that I love.
A great many things. Engaging characters whisk us on a titillating ride. As I said, I was eager from the beginning but I was unprepared for the avalanche of emotions. I think that’s what sets Horvat apart from so many others. He’s like a magnificent conductor, orchestrating literary music. The tempo and beat flow seamlessly. I was entranced…and didn’t want things to end. Joel’s pain was tangible. Tyler’s affection was not immediate but it grew into an unmistakable force. I loved the comfort they exchanged. I adorrrred Tyler’s mom. And of course, Tyler’s friends were in-your-face charming. Although there were significant sexy times, Roe effectively balanced the heat. Which is why I continue to come back for more! I love succumbing to the vortex of Roe’s books and this was no exception.
Love shared. Love denied. And well, a whole lotta lovin’.
This book is a live wire and will certainly electrify your day, but take heed of the warning or the current of sensations could be unwelcome. If this is your first time with RH…welcome to the club.
