Have you ever had something that you’re really looking forward to but dreading at the same time?
Jonty’s always longed for a traditional family Christmas, and his boyfriend Devan thinks it’s the perfect time for Jonty to meet his big, boisterous, Christmas-loving family. But Jonty’s sure Devan’s parents aren’t going to think he’s good enough for their son. He probably isn’t. But he is good for Devan and the arrival of an unexpected guest gives him a chance to prove it.
Jonty never backs down from a challenge. His mouth won’t let him. But his brain is telling him that if he interferes, he might wreck any hope of acceptance. On the other hand, could his reward be the best Christmas present ever?
A little Christmas story that takes place before the epilogue of The Making of Jonty Bloom but can be read as a standalone.
When I saw Jonty had a holiday book, I whooped with delight! One of my favorite books with one of my favorite guys had a Christmas special coming out? I am sooo there! As soon as I opened this treat, I knew I wouldn’t stop till I finished. What I didn’t expect were the tears. Ohhh, I sniffled but then I sobbed. Don’t get me wrong, I giggled and shrieked and mainly beamed with great joy. However, Jonty’s fears and disappointments became my own. His pain struck me deeply. And I wanted to rage despite knowing he wouldn’t want me to. That’s the thing with Jonty, he is kind down to his bones. He’s a sassy handful but his core is full of compassion and grace. He puts astounding effort into everything he does. He doesn’t shy away from challenges but embraces them with an open heart and open mind. Going to Christmas at Devan’s is…an overwhelming terrifying dream come true. Yep, he’s out of his league and possibly in over his head. But he’s determined to win over his boyfriend’s family, knowing it won’t be easy. Devan was born into wealth with the world at his fingertips but Jonty brings unfamiliar riches to his life. Jonty fills places inside Devan he didn’t know were empty. But can his family see what Devan sees? Or will premature skin-deep assumptions create permanent rifts? First impressions are often lasting impressions but Jonty reminds all of us that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I loved belly bursting meals and snowball fights. I loved musical surprises and carefully created gifts. I loved kinky presents and tender sentiments. Most of all, I loved Jonty and Devan. I’d better stop but as you can see, there’s no shortage of things to love. Elsborg delivers a hilarious and humbling holiday story with the full monty of feels. It’s so nice, I’ve already read it twice!
A Hallmark Christmas look-alike you won’t soon forget! The paths behind us do not determine the ones ahead of us…we create our own destiny. And a sensational and sexy holiday tale that will make you laugh and cry…possibly at the same time!
If you’ve met Jonty, you NEED this. If you haven’t met Jonty, you still NEED this. Trust me! Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to revisit an over-the-top Christmas morning…again.
