“Bossy” by N.R. Walker

Michael Piersen isn’t up for complications. He’s one of Sydney’s fastest-moving career-focused corporate realtors, and the only thing he has time for is one-night stands with zero fuss.

Bryson Schroeder’s back home from two years overseas with plans to leave his family’s hotel empire and begin his own business ventures. Out with friends to celebrate his return, he sees a gorgeous blond man across the bar, and with merely a smile and a raised eyebrow, they leave together for a night of incredible chemistry.

The rules are clear: no names, no details, no complications.

But one night becomes one more night, and eventually the arrangement suits them both for weeks . . . until their professional and personal worlds collide. With their hearts already on the line, Michael and Bry need to decide just how complicated they want to get.

Are you feeling tired and stressed, or buzzing with anxiety? Have you put on the covid-19 (come on, isn’t everyone “comfort baking” or “comfort eating” these days?) and are feeling bummed or frustrated? Or have you began the covid-grind (yes, lots of clenching and teeth grinding happening now) and your poor jaw is aching? Do you need an escape or a carefree slip into another place? How about a quick break from real life with a guaranteed smile? Why not have a night in with a cool beverage and a couple of bold and bossy Aussie men? I mean, who doesn’t love some scorching hot no-strings-attached passion? Raise your hand if sizzling sexual chemistry while studiously agreeing to not bring emotions to the table despite both parties failing and falling fast and furiously in love is your thing…*searches for wiggling fingers*…yeah, same. It’s totally my thing. And I couldn’t help but dive and then soar along with them. Can I tell you just a little bit more? Yeah? Here goes…

This is not a meet-cute but a meet-absolute. They are absolutely…hilarious, adorable, and on fire. Oh, and the romance is off the charts. When Michael and Bryce cross paths at the bar one night, electricity sparks in the air. Neither are searching for anything permanent, just prowling for some pleasure. And sweet pleasure was it ever. It’s so good, they can’t resist coming back for seconds. Which turns into thirds and fourths and so on. Their professional lives are way too busy to mix in the complications of a relationship. They simply don’t have the time. Michael has one sole focus, his job. He has busted his butt to make it to the top and he intends to stay there. A little stress relief here and there suits him just fine. Bryce is back from his travels with a vision. He plans on making this vision a reality. However, he must devote every waking moment to his new business. More than anything he wants to prove to his father that he can stand on his own two feet. It’s more than a dream, it’s an essential step towards his happiness. It’s horrendous timing for both of them but you know what they say about love, it always comes when you least expect it!

I loved both of the guys equally. Bossy and Sexy AF are utterly delightful. The secondary cast is just as fabulous. Michael’s boss and family and Bry’s friends shine brightly from the sidelines. I enjoyed all of them, I even warmed up to the hard to please father. I adored the Aussie setting and would love to pop in for a steaming mug of deliciousness at the Kopi Kat. Walker balances a solid foundation with a light-hearted flare that hit all my happy buttons. If you need a ‘Calgon, take me away’ moment, I can’t think of a better place than here.

They may live in the fast lane but I found the tension level to barely register a blip on the radar. Although, there is a highly traumatic and life-changing event that you don’t want to miss. And it’s sweet ‘n spicy in all the right places.

If you’re looking for little angst and lots of spicy fluff, this is just what the book doctor ordered!
